CODE OF CONDUCT

At CARETURN, caregiving is not just a service — it is a standard.

This Code of Conduct defines the professional, ethical, and behavioural expectations of all caregivers, nurses, and support providers (“Care Providers”) operating within the CARETURN ecosystem.

It exists to ensure every individual receiving care experiences safety, dignity, and independence — consistently.

 

1. Purpose

This Code establishes the minimum standards required of all Care Providers to:

  • Deliver safe, competent, and respectful care

  • Uphold the dignity and independence of every individual

  • Maintain trust across the CARETURN platform

Failure to comply may result in disciplinary action, suspension, or removal from the platform.

 

2. Professional Conduct & Duty of Care

Care Providers must:

  • Perform duties safely and competently within their scope of training

  • Prioritise the user’s health, safety, and wellbeing at all times

  • Follow agreed care plans and escalate when unsure

  • Avoid any action that may cause harm — physical, emotional, or financial

 

3. Respect, Dignity & Independence

Care Providers must:

  • Treat every individual with respect regardless of background

  • Protect privacy during all care activities

  • Encourage independence wherever safely possible

  • Communicate with professionalism, patience, and clarity

 

4. Confidentiality & Data Protection

Care Providers must:

  • Handle all personal and health data in accordance with Malaysia’s Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA)

  • Maintain strict confidentiality at all times

  • Use only CARETURN-approved systems for reporting and communication

  • Never record, photograph, or share user information without explicit authorisation

 

5. Safety & Hygiene Standards

Care Providers must:

  • Follow proper hygiene and infection control practices

  • Maintain a safe and clean care environment

  • Report incidents, risks, or hazards immediately

  • Perform only tasks they are trained and authorised to carry out

 

6. Communication & Accountability

Care Providers must:

  • Communicate clearly with users, families, and care teams

  • Provide accurate and timely updates on care progress

  • Complete all reports truthfully within the CARETURN system

 

7. Professional Boundaries & Integrity

Care Providers must:

  • Maintain clear professional boundaries at all times

  • Avoid personal, financial, or inappropriate relationships with users

  • Not solicit or accept money, gifts, or favours without approval

  • Respect all property and belongings

 

8. Competency & Continuous Development

Care Providers must:

  • Attend required training and development sessions

  • Maintain valid certifications where applicable

  • Remain open to feedback, mentoring, and evaluation

 

9. Platform Integrity & Use of Technology

Care Providers must:

  • Use only CARETURN-approved channels for job acceptance, communication, and payment

  • Not bypass the platform for private arrangements

  • Protect account access and login credentials

  • Maintain accurate records and reporting

 

10. Compliance with Laws & Policies

Care Providers must:

  • Comply with all applicable Malaysian laws and regulations

  • Adhere to CARETURN’s policies and operational standards

  • Cooperate fully in investigations or audits

 

11. Prohibited Conduct

The following actions are strictly prohibited:

Professional Misconduct

  • Performing tasks beyond authorised qualifications

  • Administering medication without approval

  • Providing advice outside professional scope

  • Ignoring emergencies or failing to report incidents

Abuse, Neglect & Harassment

  • Any form of physical, emotional, verbal, or sexual abuse

  • Discrimination of any kind

  • Leaving users in unsafe situations

Financial Misconduct

  • Soliciting or accepting money, loans, or gifts without approval

  • Misusing or taking property

  • Entering private or off-platform service arrangements

Data & Privacy Violations

  • Recording or sharing user information without consent

  • Using unauthorised communication channels

  • Falsifying records or reports

Safety & Substance Misconduct

  • Working under the influence of alcohol or drugs

  • Bringing unsafe or prohibited items into user environments

  • Failing to maintain hygiene standards

Misrepresentation

  • Providing false qualifications or experience

  • Using another individual’s account

  • Altering care plans without approval

Platform Misuse

  • Conducting off-platform transactions

  • Manipulating job records or data

  • Sharing login credentials

  • Publishing harmful or defamatory content

 

12. Disciplinary Actions

Breaches of this Code may result in:

  • Verbal or written warnings

  • Mandatory retraining

  • Suspension or termination from the platform

  • Reporting to relevant authorities (for serious misconduct)

 

13. Continuous Improvement

This Code may be updated periodically to reflect evolving standards in caregiving, safety, and platform governance.
